After lots of speculation, Amazon has finally pulled down the veil on their first smartphone offering. The Amazon Fire Phone may not be the ground breaking device many were expecting, but it does offer some unique features and a nice set of specifications to match.

Amazon Fire Phone features
Although the Fire Phone does indeed run Android, the Fire OS is in fact a heavily skinned version of it. As you’d expect from the online giant, the entire phone is kitted out with various shopping links to their storefront. The biggest feature, and the one that makes it stand out from the competition, is the four front-facing cameras on the phone. These aren’t your standard cameras, however, and instead they track where your eyes are looking to provide a 3D perspective on objects in certain apps, known as ‘Dynamic Perspective’. There’s also the ‘Firefly’ feature that performs in the same way as the Shazam app, to provide you with information on products and make suggestions based on your shopping.
Amazon Fire Phone release date
Users can go to Amazon.com and pre-order the phone now, with the release date set to July 25th. It’s important to note that the device will solely be available for US customers, at first.

The standalone price of the phone is $649. On contract, you’ll be able to pick it up for $199-$249.
