Accessory Review – C-Jays headphones

Manufacturer: Jays
Price: £90

These cool headphones come from Jays, which is a well-known company for its in-ear offerings and its reputation for great sounding products. So we weren’t overly expectant at this attempt to create a head-banded pair. We were wrong to doubt though. These are not only an extremely cool looking set of headphones, but they perform brilliantly too. The C-Jays use Jays’ dynamic multilayer diaphragm technology, which is put through a special process t o obtain unique characteristics. It amounts to having elasticity in the diaphragm, which allows it to follow the movement of the improved, easily driven, lightweight voice coil. At the core of the speakers is a powerful Neodymium magnet. This ensures your ears get an extremely rich, powerful sound – ranging from sumptuous bass all the way up to clear consistent highs. Comfort-wise, the C-Jays are way up there too. Usually there is a compromise when it comes to over-the-head headphones. The more expensive and better the sound, the bigger and more bulky the ear cups and the band are. But that’s not the case here, as the C-Jays are light, well made and very comfortable. The only downside we can see on these headphones is that the foam ear-cover options are a bit outrageous. You get the standard small size, a medium pair and then the biggest foam pads you’ve ever seen! We’re guessing everyone will opt for the smaller size. At £89 they’re not cheap, but you definitely get your money’s worth.
