2ndQuadrant signs up major new employees

PostgreSQL specialists 2ndGuadrant expands its reach and knowledge with Japanese-based members and ex-Skype workers

2ndQuadrant is one of the leading providers in training and support of PostgreSQL and they’re expanding this missions with two new recruits to the team. Petr Jelinek previously of Skype and the Tokyo-based Ian Barwick have joined 2ndQuadrant to bring their expertise and geographical coverage to the company.

“Prague-based Petr has been a contributor to the PostgreSQL community for nearly 10 years,” explains 2ndQuadrant. “[He] joined brand leader Skype in 2010. Since then he has been simplifying and automating the database infrastructure and code release process, writing tools for business code developers and doing performance and architecture consulting for database developers and DBAs. He also co-organised the PGConf.eu 2012 in Prague.”

Ian Barwick has assisted Japan’s second-largest stock exchange to convert parts of its system from Oracle to PostgreSQL and will oversee customers in East Asia.
